Hi Yogins,

I hope you all had a very Merry Xmas, and are looking forward to an equally exciting New Year! I too have indulged in the Christmas spirit, and with this being my longest break from yoga all year, I am looking forward to my first class back on Monday 29th Dec at 9am. Don't forget to make the most of the limited hours next week too, and slot in a class between Monday and Wednesday. Your body will thank you for the cleanse before gearing up for New Year's eve festivities.

The Regular class schedule will resume on Monday 5th Jan 09 with a couple of slight changes. Thursday's 6am class will now take place on the Esplanade opposite the Yacht Club on Parkyn Parade. We will trial this time spot for a couple of weeks to gauge interest. On that subject, thanks to all who fronted for our inaugural outdoor class on Kawana Island recently. Although it was a little warm at 9am, and there was no fundraising due to council red tape, I believe all involved had a pleasant experience.

The other change to the schedule will be the introduction of the Sacred music class on Tuesday evenings at 6.30pm, starting Jan 6th. This class will be conducted in a dimly lit room, to sacred music, with little verbal instruction. For our more experienced yogins, please complete at least 10 classes before joining in this spiritual experience. Om Shanti.

An Acro Yoga workshop is also still on the drawing board for a weekend day in Jan/Feb. Final dates will be posted on the notice board in the studio when I receive confirmation. Acro Yoga is done with a partner, using postures and lifts to gain maximum potential out of each other's practice. The teacher is an old school friend of mine from Brisbane called Tanya Zappala.

We will look at our beloved Cobra series for posture of the month. Bow Pose (Dhanurasana) is the last of this back strengthening sequence, and mastering this pose will not only work wonders on our spinal column, but will also help us perfect our standing bow. Enter http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=vcYzJTn4L4g to watch my teacher Jimmy Barkan explain and demonstrate this posture.

As the studio renovations near completion, I hope that you will enjoy the enhancement of our venue. Sorry for any inconvenience created during the expansion, I too have learned that these things can take some time to perfect. I look forward to what 2009 may bring.

On a final note, I have recently restocked the shop with some new yoga matts, blocks, straps, etc for purchase. You will also notice on your next visit that I have also moved in my stock of Venezuelan bikinis, from my other business. Just what you may need to show off your new yoga physiques as the summer starts to kick in. Let's go out and make the most of our paradise! Have a Wonderful New Year!

Namaste, Bryan
