Hi Yogins,
Welcome to the fresh winter months, and the beautiful sunny days that come with. Unfortunately, these days are a little shorter, meaning we are starting our early classes and finishing our later ones in the dark. Hats off to the morning crew in particular, who have kept up their regular practice so far. Although a little tougher to pull those blankets off in the morning, the 6am crews have been staying strong. If anyone is interested in a 9am beach class, please let me know, and I may allocate one of the mornings to this awesome experience.

Lots happening at the moment, with the closing of Ecolife, and some other changes in our neighbourhood. Yoga Vida welcomes the opening of Envy cafe, just around the corner, which will provide a new environment for after class coffees and meals. Those of you who have patronized their Cotton Tree location will no doubt be more than happy with their arrival.

We have a new style of yoga starting this week, on Saturday afternoon, from 5pm – 6.15pm. Suzanne will be teaching relaxing yoga, on a 4 week program basis, starting May 15. A little less dynamic than Yoga Vida classes, feel free to try this new style, to get in touch with your inner self. She will also hold a meditation and chanting class afterwards for those keen to stay, or turn up at 6.30pm, $5 donation only. If interested, email Suzanne info@executivetalent.com.au, or call or text me directly.

During the last month I also implemented a new “Yogi of the Month” program, to reward a particular student each month for outstanding yoginess. OK, I made that word up! This month’s winner, although she doesn’t know yet, is Tania Shaw, Tue/Thur 6am classes. Tania wins the inaugural Yogi of the Month award for her outstanding dedication to her practice, consistent improvement, and light hearted humour, which she brings to the studio twice a week. During her year with Yoga Vida, she also introduced the benefits of yoga into the lives of her family and friends, who are now also consistent yogaholics. Regrettably, Tania will be leaving our shores for a life on the seas, so I hope she can make use of her prize on board her yacht, a “Yogitoes” skidless mat towel. Please help me to congratulate her and wish her and hubby Mark a safe sailing adventure.

We will have a new yogi of the month, each month, with different prizes being awarded for different qualities and achievements. Any business owners who would like to donate a prize for this worthy cause, I would love to have you onboard, and will also promote your business in return.

Any serious yogis out there looking for a solution to their towel slipping of their mat during warrior series, then we have the solution. I have a bunch of “Yogitoes” skidless mat towels available for purchase in the studio. You may have seen mine, or some of the other students using these rubber studded towels, and wondered how they never seem to budge. Feel free to try mine before a class, really a great investment ($85) in your yoga future. I have had mine for four years now, about 1000 classes and they just get thrown in the washing machine to keep clean.

In other yoga news, I will be attending a yoga master class with Sydney teacher, Duncan Peak on Friday evening. Duncan runs the busiest studio in Australia and has an awesome practice and approach to yoga. Be prepared for some new postures and tips in the coming weeks. Also, I will be on hand at Lorna Jane, Mooloolaba Esplanade on Saturday, from 11am – 2pm, helping promote their new VIP club, and to talk all things yogic. Please drop by for a chat, some free healthy food, and the chance to win some Lorna Jane products. Lastly, for those who like to travel with their yoga, I will be teaching a master class at My Health Yoga, Broadbeach, Gold Coast on Sat 22nd of May. I had the pleasure to teach in their Brisbane studio last month, and look forward to my Gold Coast adventure next week. Hope to see some Sunny Coast faces.

If you have stayed with me on this epic news journey thus far, then thankyou, have an awesome month, and I look forward to seeing you on the mat.

Namaste, Bryan
